A TIMELESS QUOTE from perhaps Britain’s finest ever statesman is the guiding principal that underpins the work of our Technical Rig Audit Management System (TRAMS) and in turn uniquely informs our Rig Intake Management Services.

For many years our TRAMS system has gathered outputs from countless ADC rig inspections. This historic data when analysed and interpreted identifies areas most likely to cause problems on the rigs being considered by our clients. Armed with these findings our Rig Intake Management teams are able to address potential rig and equipment problems which could lead to unplanned Non Productive Time (NPT).

Put simply TRAMS TURNS DATA INTO INFORMATION AND INFORMATION INTO ACTION! The advantage of this for ADC clients is that our Rig Intake Management Services are highly focused and therefore more effective in reducing NPT, decreasing risk and increasing rig efficiency - applying the lessons of history to empower your future performance.

Earlier this year Repsol commissioned ADC to provide specialist reactivation services to ensure a 6th generation rig was successfully brought out of warm stack, fit for purpose and ready to drill. The rig in question was the Deepwater Semi-Submersible Maersk Developer, and its task, to drill the Siluro-1 Exploration Prospect well in block RC-11 offshore Colombia.

Having recently completed its contract the rig turned in an impressive 99.3% operational uptime performance “a result which we believe is directly attributable to the collaboration developed with the rig personnel and the unique services provided by ADC.” says ADC Americas President Austin Hay. “Rigs this sophisticated have never been stacked before so it’s not unreasonable to expect an initial increase in NPT once operational. However, we believe by adopting a methodical process of inspection protocols, combined with close communication with the personnel onboard, many, if not all of the factors causing unexpected NPT can be mitigated, and with results like these it would seem our meticulous collaborative approach to reactivation is paying dividends.”

Currently involved in the reactivation of a 5th generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi Submersible rig in the Gulf of Mexico along with other reactivations planned throughout the region, ADC’s Americas office is looking to be a busy place through Q2 and onto Q3 and Q4.

ADC joined thousands of other ‘DONS’ fans across the city by literally painting the town red prior to their Scottish Cup Final appearance with Celtic. Whilst landmarks were draped with scarves and flags sporting Aberdeen FC’s distinctive red, ADC went one better and programmed their HQ’s sophisticated LED lighting system to project the clubs colours throughout the whole of the building providing support through the hours of darkness to cheer on the team.
