ADC RIG INSPECTION No Images? Click here ![]() BACK TO THE FUTURE, arguably everyone's favourite time-travel movie, in many ways parallels what TRAMS our rig inspection software and rapid reporting system allows us, and our clients the possibility to do, which is to LOOK TO THE PAST TO HELP PREDICT THE FUTURE. The reality of this advantage is clear; our TRAMS system pools anonymised data from hundreds of our inspection projects and allows us to see where corrective actions and non-conformances with equipment and systems have most commonly been found. At an equipment level it will show you where the hidden dangers lie, those we found before… What you need to know about the well control equipment and systems for example of a particular rig type, design or manufacturer. At the rig level it gives peace of mind that the inspection is focused, takes previous history into account, lessons are learned, communicated and performance improvements realised. TRAMS has a significant part to play in reducing Non Productive Time. As we reach well over 600 assets inspected in the system it will continue to learn, and help our clients drill and complete their wells more efficiently. August saw our American HQ move into the newly completed Cannon campus in the New Founders District of Houston just a stone’s throw from where they had been formerly operating. Incorporating impressive workspaces and stimulating communal areas, the campus promotes co-working and collaboration across the diverse community of entrepreneurs and small businesses that share it. From here ADC America have plans to dynamically extend their activities in providing an important focal point for their US based clients, so as to enable closer client relationships and the promotion of a deeper understanding of business and operational requirements. Working in the same time zone and speaking the ‘same language’, our team in Houston not only benefit from having an unparalleled knowledge of regional regulations and procedures but also provide an agile, cost effective regional response to client requirements. Additionally ADC inspectors located across the Americas are administered and coordinated from the Houston office which utilises the same state of the art technical and administrative services and support systems as ADC Head Office in Aberdeen. Reacting to the new working environment Austin Hay - President ADC Americas commented: “It’s yet another exciting step in the expansion of our Americas division, not only does the quality of the work arena match the talents of our team, but the campus as a whole provides an environment where ‘out of the box’ thinking is encouraged, something I believe we can all benefit from in our constantly developing business sector.” ![]() ![]() RECENTLY WE HELD THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF Q & A SESSIONS AT OUR HQ IN ABERDEEN. Specifically to help our E & P clients get to grips with recent changes to API S53, Gary McQuade hosted 36 representatives from our local client base and presented on one of his specialist subjects: UKCS BOP & Well Control Equipment Standards post July 2019. Gary is ADC’s BOP & Well Control Team Leader and subject matter expert in this engineering discipline. The feedback on the session was very positive: “The session was very good! informative, relaxed and the ability to ask and hear questions. Certainly raised awareness and will prompt questions to our rig contractors and on our adherence to S53 especially in terms of retesting the stack immediately once run.” - Wells Project Manager ![]() ![]() Virtual Academy elearning is ADC's acclaimed online training product.
